In this video we visit Adelaide Showground, a large suburban station in Adelaide's inner south. It was opened in 2014 to serve as a permanent station to serve the Adelaide Showground; replacing the former Keswick station and the temporary Showground Central station (which was erected each year for the Royal Adelaide Show). It's a large station that features a footbridge, three platforms and a large overhead canopy above the platforms.
Adelaide Showground is served by electrified Seaford and Tonsley (now Flinders) line services, and diesel Belair line services. Here we see a mixture of stopping and express 4000 Class EMU's, and some 3000/3100 Class DMU's. We also see a Pacific National freight train pass through on the standard gauge; Adelaide Showground is a great place for trainspotting as the platforms give an unobstructed view of the standard gauge line.
