Nice coverage of Sandcut. A little information. A rule of thumb as an engineer that ran this territory. On an eastbound or southbound now.. whatever speed the train is making at Sandcut you divide in half and add 1 mph..that will be the speed up the mountain. For example if your making 40 mph divide by 2 is 20 add 1 speed up the hill. RIP Marks Dad.

Sorry about your father passing as far as hot weather we are lucky living in the south western part of the country because we don’t get the humidity that other places do and I prefer the dry heat than the high humidity like you. I spent my career working outdoors in the elements as an aircraft mechanic. Thanks for the videos Mark.

I enjoy seeing the signals in operation. I miss seeing thesemaphores of yore. Upper quadrant, lower quadrant, AND Train Order signals. Now THAT was "cool."
