Superb set of clips Dave and your commentary is hilarious! Reminds me of a great day out and despite another comment about tripods you seem to be able to do a good hand held shot, although a tripod would def help. Liked the one of the emergency stop, mine didn't start so didn't get it. Scott's suggestion that the driver didn't acknowledge the AWS and the brakes came on automatically sounds a likely reason. More to follow. Cheers. Ken

The sidings to the south are part of what used to be the Troon avoiding line. Watch my "Cycling lost lines" video to see the route from ground level. The area used to also have a wagon works, which has since been levelled, and there used to be a line to Troon harbour, which has now disappeared.

Interesting to look at Barassie on Google Earth at the same time and follow movements. Lots of disused line in that area?

@Ayrshire1trains The one train that did catch me out was 66170. When I went to film it my camera did its usual thing and didn't record when I pressed the button, resulting in me only filming the back of the train. So I haven't included it in this video, because there were plenty of other sheds. That said, I think it was the only EWS liveried one we saw, so it is a shame I missed it.

@loovra123 Maybe I'll get a tripod for my birthday this year.
