Trains at Birmingham New Street - 01/03/2022

Filmed on 01/03/2022. It is long overdue to visit this city and home to what is otherwise known as 'The Big Daddy' station which is one of the busiest outside London. This is Birmingham New Street (Season 9 Episode 5)
To say the least, any train spotter will have to keep on their toes as there is a lot of traffic in and out of Birmingham New Street. Due to engineering works, platform 5 is out of action for a few weeks resulting in trains being diverted onto alternative platforms.
West Midlands Railway are for the time being still using their class 323 units which are due to be replaced by the class 730 units on the Cross City Lines. The 323's will be destined for Northern in the near future. Also, they have London Northwestern Railway units on loan to them for The Chase Line services and local stopping services. Rumours heard that apparently 350/2's might be also getting withdrawn to be replaced by the new units.
We didn't see any class 170's as some of those services was either cancelled or to be used on different platforms. But, when the new West Midlands Railway class 196's comes into service, the 170's will all be bound for their new home with East Midlands Railway.
Issues sadly as well for Transport For Wales on this day. Due to flooding, the Cambrian Coast Line was closed which resulted in rail replacement buses to and from Shrewsbury and TFW services terminating at Shrewsbury.

Ah that was very well done Ricky buddy, P4 would have probably been your best bet there because the bottom of P4/5 takes you into the throat of the tunnel and, believe it or not, you can actually go almost the full length of 4C (perhaps be level with the front of the 350) and get some good views

I live at Birmingham and it’s ok there.I have never experienced a natural disaster ever at here.Btw that 2016 tornado is fake bc I was 3 and nothing happened.Don’t trust stuff however sometimes u can
