Trains at Carlisle; old station before closure - Transperth

In this video we visit Carlisle, a station on the Armadale and Thornlie lines in Perth's south eastern suburbs. Here we see some Transperth A Series EMU's passing the station, including on stopping Thornlie and express Armadale services. In-between clips we also take a tour of the station as I used the opportunity to show the features of a typical Transperth Station.
We then visit the nearby Mint Street level crossing before finishing with a clip of the Australind heading towards Perth.
Carlisle station opened on the 2nd July 1912 as Mint Street. It was renamed to Victoria Park East in October 1912, before being renamed to Carlisle in May 1919. The station received a $1.2 million upgrade which was completed in 2003 ahead of the opening of the Thornlie Line in August 2005. The upgraded included a resurfaced platform, a new shelter, and other improvements, which is the state in which we see the station in this video. This station was closed on the 20th November 2023 and has since been demolished.
This is because this station is being rebuilt at part of the Victoria Park-Canning Level Crossing Removal Project, which will see six level crossings on the Armadale/Thornlie lines removed by elevating the railway line. This includes the level crossing at Mint Street. The new elevated rail corridor including the new station at Carlisle is scheduled to open sometime in mid-2025.
The closure of the rail line for the project also marked the retirement for the ADP/ADQ class railcars on the Australind service, which will be replaced with new railcars produced by Alstom when the line reopens in mid-2025.
