Trains at Crewe - 04/07/2023

Filmed on 04/07/2023. So, it is now time for an evening rush hour or 2 filming at one of the main stations linking for a prototype train and also for Crewe Heritage Centre. Yep, this is a return to Crewe (Season 10 Episode 15)
Since our last visit back in 2022, there has been some changes which has occurred. Such as, Avanti West Coast has introduced more trains linking between Blackpool North/Edinburgh/Glasgow to London Euston via Birmingham New Street which now calls at Stafford along the way. Also, an increase of Avanti West Coast services along the North Wales Coastal route between Holyhead/Chester to London Euston.
Transport For Wales is undergoing a shortage of units at the moment for their long hauled services linking Manchester to North/South Wales diagrams due to the fire of one of their class 175 units. Although some are now in service, some are being rebuilt at Crewe. So, Transport For Wales has mostly Sprinter units on the South Wales to Manchester diagrams. As shown, a MK4 set failed and passengers had to wait up to 2 hours to accommodate those stranded passengers. The class 197's are making their introduction into service as the first of the 3 carriage units are making progress in service.

103!? Wow!!! Dam, if only I excised in the 80's. I've seen videos of how (and personally now) how it should be done. I'm guessing you've seen like 08 shunting diesles etc...?

@RickyNowis certainly did at crewe but then 08's were everywhere. My best loco day was the first time to Bristol and Cardiff when I copped 108 locos. Cant imagine two 13 year olds nowadays getting the train from Chesterfield to Bristol Temple Meads then across to Cardiff for the class 33 haulage and going past Severn tunnel junction then using my mates depot directory to get the directions to walk to Canton. I wouldn't have wanted my kids doing it when they was 13. Will try and dig my old platform 5 books out even the freight wagon books and try and meet up with you next time we come up to Scarborough for the day
