It’s really not a ‘class station’. The frontage is beautiful but the rest of the buildings are from the 1970s and are dated, lack character and are dirty. There are a total lack of facilities at the station for a city of Leicester’s size. Also, trains are limited to 222s, 180s, 170s, the off 158s and soon to be transferred 156s, so hardly an inspiring roster.

I was on 222017 and 013 on my way to Kettering from Loughborough and I just spotted you right I was departing Leicester, there was point failures at Sheffield. So it was heavy delayed by approximately 25 minutes.

170379? That's more like 170397 actually! At least one of your films isn't complete without an error is it? There would have been a service to and from Grimsby as well but was cancelled or terminated short I think. Was the Cross Country service from Cambridge near the start of the film supposed to have been started from Stansted Airport? Also yes that route needs trains that are better equipped! What could perhaps be if either Avanti West Coast transfer their 221's to Cross Country and/or East Midlands Railway transfer their 222's (all part of the Voyager family) over there to boost their overall Voyager fleet and enable some to be used on services to the likes of Stansted Airport and Cardiff Central etc. To be honest though can't see that happening at the moment! The 170 certainly not the best type of train to use on an Airport route though that's for sure!
