Great video of my local station. The first train you filmed shows the problem of the large gap on platform 1 very well. The trains tilt away from the platform and it can seem like quite a step getting off the trains here sometimes.

That is probably the only problem with Wellingborough station, especially for the older generation that may struggle to board and alight the trains. It wouldn't be so bad if the trains weren't leaning

I would have thought the MML would reach Scotland but it's merely a branch-off for CrossCountry trains to join or leave the ECML. Still a good video though. That EMT HST had 1 East Coast Mk3 coach in its set. I guess it was on lease.

I don't think having the midland mainline reaching up to Scotland would be worth it given the existence of the WCML and ECML. I'm not to sure as to why the National Express MK3 was on that HST set

Definately a former shade of itself, I remember when W'boro had 4 platforms, plus a platform terminus track on the centre platform facing south for trains to Northampton via London rd stn. the footbridge did not have the lift/elevator towers and spanned 3 platforms platforms 3 and 4 used for local services to and from Rushden/Higham Ferres of course in those days and up to the decline of freight there was 4 tracks 2 for fast up/down and 2 for slow up/down lines always a great spot for train spotting in steam/diesal days.

I would love to see Wellingborough back in its former glory. I think it would be fantastic to have a line from Northampton to Wellingborough using a variety of electric and diesel trains. And in saying that I would really like to see Thameslink services extended to Wellingborough or even Kettering once the remainder of the midland mainline is electrified.

Why do you say DB shenker when the 66 came bye when it had a EWS livery on.

Because DB Schenker have bought out EWS, a lot of the trains still retain their former EWS livery

+GA170208 thanks very much :) yeah I will definitely go to both stations. I've seen plenty of videos from both places and they do look great to film at. Harlington especially for the high speed HST and Meridian trains. I will definitely be returning to Stowmarket. If not this year then I will go towards the early stages of next year.
