Trains at Witham, GEML | 26/10/20

A long overdue return to the Great Eastern Mainline, it’s been many months and the loco-hauled class 90 sets have now disappeared being replaced with the new class 745 Stadler units.
I’ve also never actually filmed at this station before, Witham. Where the Branch line to Braintree diverges from the Mainline. Situated between Chelmsford & Colchester.
INCLUDES:
Greater Anglia Class 745’s Stadlers passing at Speed, 360’s & class 321’s. Also Freightliner 66’s & class 86’s as well as a Maritime livery 66 making a stop in the platform waiting to be overtaken by a Norwich to London express.
Also included are a few shots at Chelmsford of a 745 leaving as well as the only daily booked class 317 working in the evening peak!
The class 360’s are also on borrowed time on the GEML soon to be replaced and the 360’s are relocating to the Midland Mainline network for operation between St Pancras & Corby!

Seems kinda strange seeing the GEML with no 90s. Though not as strange as the ECML with no HSTs/91s. Both gone before their time IMO. The 86's on the other hand...I recon if we buried one in a dessert somewhere, civilisations 6,000 years from now might find it, and it would still work! They seem to transcend the time/space continuum! :-D

I honestly think the class 745’s are actually pretty good I mean it’s sad to see no more class 170’s I never had a chance to spot one or film a journey on one which is such a shame but hey we still have the good old class 321’s and the class 360’s.
