A difference that I saw is that Most European Metro systems don't have a guide where it points out where the train door will stop. (Those little arrows on the floor) Or the screen doors before the actual train door
@ihatealgebra24315 жыл бұрын
It is impossible to do so, and it is to encourage people to not arrive early at the station to prevent too much people being at the station, and the reason of that is also because there are a lot of trains in Britain, some trains just don't have the same door position.
@ihatealgebra24312 жыл бұрын

It's hard to compare, simply because, except Japan, European networks are a century old or more, for the majority of lines, metro included. In Asia the metro arrived around the years 70-80 for the most part, but grew very quickly ... We can see that on the architecture in the stations. The national and regional lines (like the Jr West which is intercity suburban line and not national line) are also, in Europe and Japan all centenaries (+120 years), for the others only 1 or 2 main lines are. ..because often built in the 1920's by the older European colonial countries. For the fact that trains are efficient in Asia, they are also efficient in Europe otherwise the trains would not be full ^^. For construction, most of the technologies are European and Japanese, the material, the same .... I remind you that the majority of Chinese, HK, Singapore, Taiwan are of Japanese origin (Shinkansen and metro or electronic technology from power), and European origin (Alstom metropolis, Siemens, Bombardier, power electronics) ... national production was not significant until 2010, China included.

You should completely exclude India from Asia when you want to compare the Railways conditions. I'm constantly thinking about my Nation. And the ultimate answer I got is that our country is just away from the poor countries in the World. India thinks more on quantity other than quality which made the railway maintenance worse. I can't totally blame on the govt because the problems are encountered with the orthodox mindsets of people which is tough to be changed. We respect each other here but that's only for covering ourselves and escape from the social responsibilities. Formalities are taking over the discipline in our country. That's sad but true. We should also accept the fact that India has one of the oldest railways and it's made only for the mass transit of people. The European countries has less population density!
