What a great video from your archive.I only used to visit Hither Green back in those days so i had no idea that there was no footbridge at Wandsworth Road back then, and all the freight used the main lines and not through the platforms., Colin.

Yes, Colin, the footbridge must have been installed around 1989, as I didn’t visit Wandsworth Road for over a year , but when I went back in 1990, there it was. Most of my shots there in 1990 are from the footbridge as you’ll see in my videos. Freight always went through the mainlines whenever I was there, but apparently it goes through the platforms now - not sure when that changed. Thanks for commenting. Geoff. 👍
