Trains Interrupt Our Dinner & Trains Wake Me Up From Sleeping In A Motel By The Railroad! CSX & Norfolk Southern Trains In Sharonville & Glendale, Ohio. Awesome Railroad Crossings And Close Look At Rail. 6 Trains And Trains With DPU Locomotives.
Eating at a restaurant by the CSX Toledo Sub in Glendale, Ohio. This is the Trackside Pub which used to be the Cock N Bull. Mrs Tooth, the girls and I ate here while we were staying in Sharonville for a soccer tournament. This is Part 2 for the video that I posted last week. This video features our second night at the Quality Inn at Sharonville which sits right next to the Norfolk Southern New Castle Sub. We see a couple of trains from our motel window and I went down to the track to film a couple of them at the railroad crossing. We also see a close up of the rail and some other stuff by the railroad tracks. I might have one of these trains out of order.
As I stated in other videos these lines use directional running. Most of the trains on the CSX line run northbound although I did get a huge southbound intermodal in this video. Most of the trains on the NS line run southbound. The lines join at Cincinnati and at Hamilton, Ohio.

I just saw a train video that was filmed at night, with excellent clarity. Perhaps they had a special night vision lens or something. So it can be done, and we the fans just know you can figure it out. I personally love the night videos because that is when all the lights of railroading show up at their best.

It's always good to find nice places to stay and eat that are decent and close to Trackside. You find yourself asking for those tables or rooms overlooking the tracks and then get that perplexed look from the clerk. The big catch sometimes is trying to avoid other big crowds for events especially big sporting groups when they're in smaller college towns. Just picturing you if you had the dogs along. Wowzer!

I used to drive to there 5-6 days a week.A few years ago Ford would receive tanker cars loaded with transmission fluid.They probably still do.Lots of fine catches there Brian.

I was wondering if they still use the rail at Ford. The tracks have a heavy rust on them and I think only one track is left that actually went into the plant

@@JawTooth They tore a lot out 3 years ago. They no longer have scrap steel hauled out because they no longer make torque converters there. The big stamping presses are gone and they generated a lot of steel scrap. Don't know if they still receive automatic transmission fluid by rail. It was cheaper to buy by railcar, however there were more contaminants in it vs getting it via truck.

So the Cock and Bull is now the The Glendale Trackside Pub (as of March 2024 apparently) Glad they stayed open. This has to be the best place to dine and watch trains in greater Cincinnati !

You were able to catch several additional trains on your second day at Sharonville, Ohio. The trains that you captured in the daylight at Sharonville, Ohio were interesting to watch. The train that you captured through the motel room window at night was a little difficult to see at times.
