I remember the trains living in Hammond in the mid-90s when I was going to school in Southeastern at first I wasn't used to it but I lived in the downtown area and it just became a part of the culture in living there you could certainly hear the trains and feel them and if you live close to the tracks your place would Shake. But this is when Hammond was a small little Podunk town the only significant thing was the outdated Campus of Southeastern but I liked it back then the way it was before they started renovating the school . I really enjoyed living in Hammond back then. It's changed so much. And I grew up in Mandeville and we had train tracks that went through there but they ended up tearing up the tracks turning it into the St Tammany Trace it's a walking path that freaking went from Mandeville all the way to Slidell so they basically did away with the train tracks that went through Mandeville Lacombe and Slidell. I assume they built tracks opposite side of the interstate away from downtown Mandeville Lacombe in Slidell over where Folsom Covington Abita Springs and then on past the stennis NASA Space Center and up by Slidell... but I could be wrong. And I know they turned the old train depot in Mandeville into a place where you can watch bands just a cool little nightlife Hangout that was outdoors and I know they used to do live at 5:00 every Friday I don't know if they still do it. But man who was a cool town to grow up in that's for sure

I remember riding a train from New Orleans to Maryland in 1994 on obviously an Amtrak and it's the one and only time I ever rode on a train and it was so cool I spent a lot of time in the Bar car...... but we had a small room and it was really cool I enjoyed it. That's the only reason I brought it up was because you know this video is from 96 and I rode a train a few years before that from New Orleans up to East Coast to Baltimore Maryland

Louisiana before Katrina I love living in the state back in the 90s I grew up in Mandeville and enjoyed the heck out of St Tammany Parish from 1987 through 96. Still love going down to the lakefront enjoying a day out there and eating some good food at one of the many great restaurants in Mandeville. Or go out on Lake Pontchartrain with one of my friends that has a sailboat or another buddy of mine has a little center console Boston Whaler and we go out by the causeway and catch redfish.
