2 Trains Passing On A Railroad Bridge & 2 miles Of Auto Racks Train With DPU Mid Train! The B&O Signal Gets Knocked Down By A Train Running Long Hood Forward ( signal goes green to red as train passes ). CSX Grain Train At 4 Track Railroad Crossing In Elmwood Place. These trains are in Cincinnati just north of Queensgate Yard. Notice one train was led by a Burlington Northern Santa Fe locomotive. That same train had a Norfolk Southern locomotive working as a mid train DPU.
Notice these old historic line side signals that are still in use. They are rare Baltimore And Ohio Railroad colour position light signals. These are really cool to see. Not many of them are still in use. The Toledo line near Tipp City, Troy and Deshler has a few. They are in my videos.
All kinds of stuff going on in this video. We also have the slide show and the animals.
Filmed in 1080p with 60fps on January 2, 2023
Thanks for watching! If you have time, please watch another video of mine to help keep my channel going. Every view helps support my channel. Viewing time helps pay for gas, motels, rental cars etc. I have a list of places that I plan on filming so watch another video of mine if you have the time.

We learned about Canal Ridge from one of the very 1st Jaw Tooth videos we ever saw. Since then, it's been one of our favorite spots. Always a lot of action and seems like we always see something different or unique. It's a crew change location and a lot of times, loco's will stop right in front of us. Pretty cool to feel the rumble and hear all the sounds. That BNSF led train was moving faster than you normally see approaching Queensgate.

Near the end of the tape that Central Steel and Wire Warehouse is pretty sharp looking for an older building. We have one in Milwaukee that originally was almost all glass and had one some Design Awards back in the 1950s but has since been covered up deemed too expensive to heat during the winter. Given all the natural disasters of hurricanes floods tornadoes landslides fires and now Icy snowy road collisions it's no wonder all these Auto Racks stay busy hauling replacement vehicles

Out here near the "end of the line" near various sea ports (Seattle, Tacoma, Aberdeen, Everett, Vancouver BC, Portland) you see DPU power on almost every train coming and going. BUT seldom do they appear in the middle of the consist, instead they're at the tail end pushing, always at least one although on the heavier grain, oil, coal and aggregate trains there's two back there pushing. There's more hilly, mountainous terrain with the Cascades splitting Washington state almost in half north to south, so with trains getting longer it's little wonder why Distributed Power is so popular and can be seen on almost every train (empty or full) here in the Pacific Northwest...

Some taggers leave "important" markings untouched by taping paper over them while doing their thing, then removing it later leaving the data still visible. The logic is that the less railroad data markings and reflectors are covered up by tags, the less inclined the railroad is to obliterate the graffiti later on.

That first train really makes me rub my eyes - modern engines running long hood forward really looks unusual - it has to be hard to see for the engineer! There were a couple of nice DPUs to see. The DPU on the autorack is different. Usually, they have a 2 or 3-engine lashup and that's it - but this was a longer autorack :)

That's why fifty years ago there was a brakeman or a 'fireman' on the long nose forward engines or those with high hoods. Around curves it was important for the engineer to have someone looking out for signals and other things he could not see while going around curves where his sight was blocked. Don't know how it is today. [brakeman for the defunct Southern Pacific]

The great majority of diesel locomotives that have run on British railways over the last 65 years have had cabs at both ends, so the driver always has a good view out in front of him. The only major exception, apart from diesel shunters (switchers), is the Class 20 en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_Rail_Class_20, with a cab only at one end, but these locos are usually run in pairs with the cabs at either end of the combination.
