Today it is operated as a heritage railway and is the world's oldest railway running on its original alternating current electrification scheme

The engine is very similar to LAG 4 and LAG 5 built by Siemens in 1922 and by Maffei in1930 for Lokalbahn AG. They have been renumbered E 69 04 and E 69 05 by DRG and later, DB
