I’m not one to praise Mattel merchandise at all but the fact that it is a “prototypical 1 track mainline with passing loop/siding” actually adds some realism. TTTE merchandise besides Bachmann and Hornby has never had realistic grades of incline ascending track so I can forgive that. Some parts of it do feel cheap but there’s no real in your face gimmicks. This is a Mattel product where I think the set is actually greater than the sum of its parts. Too many Mattel sets are the opposite. I love that you can run 2 trains in opposite directions continuously and you can just extend the passing loop/siding with more straight track to make the main play feature work with tender engines and long trains of trucks or coaches. Kudos Mattel. Additionally can you get out the TOMY Tomica/plarail trains and build a table wide track with switches to this set. Try using the TOMY-trackmaster and trackmaster1-trackmaster2 adaptors

4:40 It is nice that Mattel not only included a pamphlet, but it has an accurate map of Sodor on it! It even includes the Culdee Fell Railway, which has yet to appear in the show itself 5:29 I thought Diesel, Flynn, and Edward were in the new boxes too, and someone said there are a Charlie and Henry too. The animal engines also aren't shown. 5:35 Whiff, Victor, Bash, Dash, Belle, Paxton, Luke, Rajiv, Hong Mei, Secret Agent Thomas, Troublesome Truck, and the multi-packs aren't shown in the Pamphlet. There are even less motorized engines than there were before under Trackmaster 2 of 2014. Spencer, Hiro, Toby, Timothy, Gator, Samson, Ryan, Merlin, Diesel 10, Phillip, Victor, Salty, Flynn, Etienne, Hurricane, Ashima, Scruff, Glynn, Hugo, Harvey, and Stephen all received Trackmaster 2 models between 2014 and 2018, but have not returned under the new packaging That one stop track is quite annoying being set to stop unless you have you finger on the lever. There should've been a way to turn that feature off. You should try taking the batteries out of one of the engines and see how one engine acts on its own.

Okay so my thoughts on the Thomas and Friends motorized talking Thomas and Percy train set is a pretty good set I actually like it and I really like the bolt rivet detail that they add on to Thomas and Percy and I really like how the lamps light up they only light up when they're talkin that is pretty good I still consider Joseph May and Christopher Ragland the best voice actors to play Thomas and Percy

This isn't Trackmaster of 10 years ago but minus the gimmick of the tunnel dropping the load into the car an the fact that Thomas an Percy say the same thing over an over I will give Mattel this it's sort of a step in the right direction all be it this set still has that roller coaster look to it personally I think Mattel should of made a set with the new wind mill where it was a flat track design with no hills or bridges but the bigest thing for Mattel in moving forward making new Trackmaster sets is is that Mattel has to get away from making sets like roller coasters because alot of people are saying it getting old an that Mattel can only keep the gimmick of making Trackmaster sets like roller coasters going so long before it gets old which to alot of people it already has!!!!

I saw this on the Television being advertised and I really wouldn’t buy it I really prefer the Interactive Golden Bear Thomas and Percy dated 2000 It not sure if that’s because they say more in conversation and talk about more things I just think the vintage Golden Bear Talking interactive Thomas and Friends are more exciting because they have more phrases and are not on a track so you can push them along I’m sure you know the ones I mean

This set is a step in the right direction. Its definitely not worth $50 though more like $35-$40. The trucks were so cheap and awful. Bulstroad is just awful

Bulstrode was only added, as a barge model for an ocean side. Still a better model than the 2013 WR version. Plus, he is much more larger than the previous versions.
