In 1927, the NYC needed a powerful locomotive to handle fast express passenger trains. Now the pacifics can handle this job, but they were starting to tire out. So from Lima Locomotive Works of Lima, Ohio came 4-6-4 #5200. The president of the NYC called these locomotives Hudsons after the Hudson River. From 1927 to 1938, 275 locomotives had been built by both Lima and ALCo. Some of these babies were even fitted with streamlining. Though the streamining was taken off from 1945 - 1947. In 1953, the NYC began to retire the Hudson. In 1956, the last hudson dumped it's fire for the last time and when the NYC dieselized the following year, they were nothing more than a memory. One of the Hudson's Tenders was used for track maintainace and is now found at Steamtown.

Usually K&L updates the models and the eventually remove some features

He might have got the Niagara which does have Smoke Deflectors equipped. Or the K4 Pacifics which also has Smoke Deflectors
