The download system is in ALL trainz games; but the Doppler effect is only in Trainz12 and T:ANE.

I just watched this entire hour and a half video. I have to say that you did a great job for one who is not so much into trains. OK, there were a few "WTF" moments in there, LOL, but overall very informative and entertaining. I am an avid Trainz user since TRS2006. I must admit that even with as much time as I have spent using the Trainz platform, I always seem to find more to learn. So yes, I actually did learn a few things in this. At 30:10, you can have different height water if you do not connect the two waters with one another. If they are separate, they can have different height.

Hard to say... I mean there are tablet versions of Trainz but I personally wouldn't want to run the PC version on a laptop.

YOu cannot move any track if a consist is going to be moved along with the track. If you go to move the track, the mainline track will move, since there was a train on it you cannot move it.

technical question please.... i have the geforce gt 610 ddr3 and the game engine failed...does that mean i new a new card? besides that u have direct x 11 on win 7 ultimate

I would say that video card isn't going to do well on Trainz. Now that the 10 series is out you should be able to find GTX 970 cards for cheap... or just get the 1070 or wait for the Radeon RX 480.

+Steven Mosley There are (very few) scenarios/sessions that come with the game that have goals for you to complete and you can download more on the DLS (although I find good ones hard to find). Otherwise it's free roam/quick drive or make your own scenarios/sessions using Surveyor.

This game/simulator is pretty much open ended. If you are really into building routes/maps, then you can do that. If you want to build purpose driven routes for train operations, you can. If you want to just free roam on a route, you can do that as well. There are literally hundreds of different ways you can work with Trainz. Basically it is what I like to call a "sandbox" type game/simulator.

so far I'm impressed about the frame rates. Question I have a brand new cyberpower desktop that I got last year for my birthday and I have been having problems on trainz 12 on the frame rates. I don't know what I need to do to fix it because I have lost more data and time in the game on building but I can't find out why the frame rates go down to 2.1. I've seen how nice people build route and it run smooth plus just like yours it runs smooth so is there anyway you might know how to fix it?

Without knowing your specs it's hard to say, could be anything! Trainz wants a pretty good video card to run at a decent framerate.

Was disappointed in performance of this still non-optimized game. On your 980 this game should be running 60fps with its very limited graphics. Also disappointed with base content being same stuff that was release since 2008 with very little content to justify this games purchase.

+MAG “MAGWolf” Drago There's still room for improvement but it has improved a lot for SP1. As I said in the video though, any game engine would struggle with user-generated content that isn't optimized on the creator's end. There's only so much the engine can do but I think they have more work to do for optimizing shadows from what I hear.
