I went to Dusseldorf this summer, luckily the trams were running fine and the only thing we worried about was figuring out the ticketing system.

The ABCD ticketing is stupid. Also,just like in Porto, you can never by a ticket of the best value. For example a type B ticket lets you do a zone plus the zones bordering it. So if I wanted to travel across 3 zones then it would make sense to buy a zone B and validate it in the middle zone. This is fine if my day starts in a middle zone, but if me day starts at the edge of the area I want to travel then I am forced to buy a C ticket.

@@benolifts Have you tried scanning a MiFare ultralight NFC train ticket into your phone then using a tag emulator to use your phone as a train ticket? I have a bunch of NFCa and Mifare Ultralight cards from when I was in Venice. I wasn't able to try it out there because I was using a Crapple iPhone 5C. But now that I have got an S10 Plus, I want to try it.

In Germany, when a train/tram derailments, authorities are working to get it back to the railway. In Israel, when a train/tram derailments, people get killed and there's a big drama on the news. This is a joke, so don't take it seriously.
