I think it'd be cool if you used that mod that lets you place slabs inside the rails and then made the road out of slabs so that it looks like the rails are inside the road, like real tram rails.

That isn't entirely True. The Tatra KT4D for example (used in Berlin, Germany - already Retired from Service) has doors that swings its doors outside. Not just the KT4D but also the one from the Video (idk what specific model it is but the one who retired much sooner also had these doors as well.)
