This is Tram Simulator Urban Transit. In real life, I was a tram driver for over ten years and I wanted to give you my perspective on the game.
For a tram simulation the game is okay, but not more than that. Not even sure I can call it okay to be honest. It lacks several things that are more or less essential in a tram simulator. For example, there's a lack of overhead wires and a pantograph on the tram itself. It's quite challenging to operate a tram without electricity. There are no public transport traffic signals, flashing yellow warning lights (with sound) at pedestrian crossings, speed signs for trams and much much more. The tracks are not even correctly designed in several places and bends really weird. Some curves are so sharp that a real tram would have derailed or broken in the middle in real life. When driving in one of these curves, it just kind of lags a bit then keeps on going as normal. I know it's a game, but it's still a simulator.
It feels like they took a bus simulator, added tracks, put a tram on them, and then called it Tram Simulator. The tram in this video, 'Alpha Dualis - G18,' doesn't have windshield wipers. I noticed that when it started raining. Pedestrians just walking straight into the tracks when you're approaching (yes, I hit two of them as you can see in this video).
The developers Stillalive studios have done some good things here. The graphics are good, the city environment is good, the car AI is good. The tram itself looks really futuristic. As I said before, they miss the crucial aspects for a tram simulation game but they are off to a good start. Feel free to contact me if you want to!
I tried to use my Tobii eye tracker but I could not set it up correctly. I used the mouse to look around instead. I hope you can cope with that. Enjoy the video and have a great day!
