The recording with Andrae Crouch was classic. They were warriors! 1969/1970 Tramaine Davis with Crouch & the Disciples "I'm Coming Home". Her voice is easily recognizable even before her solo part. Fifty years of singing professionally for God. She could have taken the road through R&B as many others did who left gospel music for the almighty dollar, but Lady Tramaine stayed true to the calling God placed on her life and the gift of song keeps on giving to this day. Changed, Holy One, Goin Up Yonder, He's That Kind of Friend, Potter's House, Fall Down, I Never Lost My Praise, What Shall I Do, The Search Is Over, He Loves Me, Will You Be There...on and on and on. Thank you Lord for so many wonderful songs of encouragement and faith.

Correction: At 1:10 Bobby mentions that Tramaine went from André to Love Center Choir but this skips the many years of development with The Edwin Hawkins Singers. Joy Joy - with Ruth Lyons, Ain't It Just Like Him - with Walter Hawkins (before he accepted the call on his life to start Love Center). Think about it, they recorded Live 1969 - Tramaine was 18 years old; still Tramaine Davis. She married Walter in 1971. Legend has it that her mother, Lois The Pie Queen kept singing up to labor. Guess you can say Tramaine came out singing! Praise God for this vessel, 🙌🏾 Tramaine Davis Hawkins Richardson. 🙏🏾

I loved Tramaine every since I aunt used to wear out her album “The Joy that Floods my soul”. I enjoyed listening to “Whenever you call” as a kid. I sang it now whenever I’m bored at work. ❤️❤️❤️🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾

Tremaine Hawkins is my FAVORITE Gospel singer. She's not only beautiful on the outside, but seems to have a beautiful character. But I believe that gospel musicians might have taken a step too far in referring to Christian singers as "lady", since a "lady" is the female counterpart of a "lord". What would we call a famous male artist like Andrae Crouch? Should we call him, "lord"? Men and women in the gospel ministry should be cautious in giving titles that would tend to put great artists on the same level as their Lord. "The servant is not greater than his master", Jesus said. He also warned the Pharisees of using titles that belong only to God (Matthew 23:7-11). I'm sure the fans may mean no harm, but evil often outweighs the good on this planet.
