Trampoline injuries on the rise - Here's what parents need to know

Already this Spring doctors at Akron Children's Hospital have seen emergency room visits from kids injured while playing on the backyard trampoline. Over Easter weekend alone, doctors treated multiple cases requiring surgery. So what do parents need to know about these types of injuries and what can a parent do to lessen the chance of their child getting seriously injured? Dr. Mark Adamczyk is a Pediatric Orthopedic Surgeon Akron Children's Hospital and shares some advice with Fox 8's Stefani Schaefer.

I just broke my tibia. My ACL, MCL, LCL, and Meniscus are all torn. My knee was a true dislocation. It was horrific. I have surgery this Wednesday.

How are you healing up? And how old are you? I'm actually a young mom of a 5 year old and it makes me so nervous when her dad and her jump together because he really jumps and it makes her fall. I can't even imagine the pain you must have gone through!! Were you doing a sport or just messing around?

@@JamieYAYme I started walking mid August. I am doing well. I can't run yet or do anything sport related but I'm about 20 degrees away from bending my knee normally. Its been a challenge to get it to straighten so we work on that a ton in physical therapy. Also I'm 34.
