Trams at Parkville Station/Royal Melbourne Hospital - Melbourne Trams

In this video we visit the tram stop at Parkville Station & Royal Melbourne Hospital (stop 10), situated on route 19 along Royal Parade. The tram stop is one of the newest in Melbourne to be upgraded to superstop platform standards, having opened on the 20th November 2023 (not 2024 as said in the video...). The stop is situated next to the Royal Melbourne Hospital but also the future Parkville Railway Station which is currently under construction as part of the Metro Rail Tunnel project. As well as serving Melbourne's hospital precinct it will also serve Melbourne University and is set to become a rather busy station when it opens sometime in 2025.
At the tram stop we mostly see the D2 (Siemens Combino) Class trams, with a lone older B2 Class tram also making an appearance.

Awesome video Mate you know the new Keon park station is now opened on Mernda line to take passengers and the removal of Keon parade level crossing now has been removed replaced by rail bridge and new elevated Keon park station and now the works continues with new landscape and fix another lift and build new car park under the rail bridge next to new Keon park station until fully completed can you film it😊🙏

Now here is something we haven't seen in a few months, the trams return. Also speaking of trams, you know how we have the A, B, C, D, E, W and Z class trams roaming around Melbourne aswell as the soon to come G class tram, have you ever noticed that we don't have the F and H class trams just yet for some reason unless they're gonna be proposed?

F was probably skipped because of its association with failure. And the next tram after the g-class will likely be the h-class. That or if a new lightrail network in Geelong, sunshine or caulfield-rowville link are built they could use different rollingstock that's classified as the h-class. Wouldn't hold my breath on that one though.

@mathewferstl7042 I know, its weird they did that. Very interesting indeed. I like the idea of a new light rail for Geelong, a new tram line to Sunshine and the Caulfield to Rowville tram is possible. Think about, all they need to do is extend the route 3 tram from Malvern to Rowville and boom, you finally have a tram to Rowville, only problem for all these is the cost.

@Gaminggunzeller the Sunshine proposal was from way back in the 2000's in the making sunshine great paper and would have been 4 different tram lines surrounding sunshine to footscray, highpoint, newport and altona. The caulfield-rowville link is a 2018 proposal that went cold after being announced by Labor, unfortunately. It would have been an entirely separate light rail from the rest of the network, possibly to be built upon to create a network for the possible second CBD in the Monash-Clayton area.
