didnt knew that trance bassline layering has 3 layers i usually go with a punchy bassline layered with somewhat plucky 808 basses this is really helpful, thanks!

Trance baseline are not limited to 3, some can have more depending on the need for them. But 3 is a common placement.😎
@urphakeandgey6308
@urphakeandgey6308 Жыл бұрын
I'd say 3 is the most common simply because it covers all 3 ranges - Sub/Bass, Mids, and Highs. Of course, you can get more specific in the frequency ranges and layer more.

Ahhh it's the proq that leaves that straight cut on the top end! I was wondering why a trance song I was looking at had that sharp cut off! I'm talking about temple one's aquamarine. The eq data shows that hard cut

Awesome tutorial mate, but fyi, the stereo balance seems to be a bit wonky, the left side is louder than the other, a minor nuisance.

Where did you get the idea to do different patterns for the different bass layers? Is that something you saw done somewhere else? It works but I would never have thought to do it - I would have used the same pattern, but it would not have been as interesting or effective.

Hello Demis.Why would you leave so much high freq on most of bass lines?Would not make synths and percussion muddy?
@urphakeandgey6308
@urphakeandgey6308 3 жыл бұрын
It depends on your mix, but I'd assume he leaves them in for presence. Usually people boost overtones for presence. I know I'm late btw.

Can I ask you a question? Since there is no instance where the kick and the bass trigger together why is there a need to cut out those frequencies from the basses?
@demishellen7182
@demishellen7182 7 жыл бұрын
Cutting the frequencies help reduce the muddiness. If you cut the volume alone i.e. side chain you are not correcting the frequency clash but reducing it volume. The problem is still there and the kick and bass will still fight for that space.
@urphakeandgey6308
@urphakeandgey6308 3 жыл бұрын
The only bass you'll leave in is the sub-bass. The rest are just layers to add texture. If you left their sub frequencies in, it'd clash with the sub-bass, side chained or not.

Why did you cut the sub- frequencies? That's only going to lose you power when playing on a proper rig.
