I don't fully understand what prompted the situation beginning at 2:26 but I believe you handled it as best as anyone could under those circumstances.The spontaneity and genuine reactions of the people are quite intriguing and i really appreciate you sharing this experience with those of us who have yet to see and experience the same. I am still trying to understand the importance of the photo taking though. Is it just being nice or does it have more of an important meaning ? Guess i'll have to come and find out for myself in the future. So until then keep up the good work.

The photo thing happened to me a lot when I was there (I am white not black though) , and I am not particularly handsome or anything. But I must have been exotic to them and random people approached me to take selfies with me haha both men and women (I am a dude ). I feel many come from remote areas and as they visit the city or whatever and come accross foreigners they tend to be intreagued. I was never really certain though whether it was a positive fascination in me or they thought I looked weird and wanted a picwith the zoo animal haha but they were super friendly and nice. In comparison if you go to famous shopping malls or market areas where they are used to foreigners, they will flat out treat you with disrespect and disdain for whatever reason, like if you refuse to get scammed haha. So it's like two opposing experiences depending in what area you visit.

@@country383 Forgot the name of that mall, found it on TripAdvisor when I was preparing for the trip to Beijing . It is very famous for knock off brands or maybe real brands but somehow sold for much cheaper supposedly (I am assuming coz most brands are now manufactured in China) . It used to be a market and then they built this huge mall in its place but kept the name of the market and it gathered all those shops but in a more modern way. Most of the sellers there are used to foreigners and communicated easily in English (elsewhere people mostly speak exclusively Chinese). There they would literally tell you to "fuck off" and "you are poor , you come from a poor country" if your refuse to pay their scam prices (which often times is ridiculously high). I swear I left there nearly crying, they were so rude to us. And it was shocking for our group, coz until that point we were all just fascinated by how kind Chinese people are...and then we got a good taste haha. But apart from that place, everywhere else we went people were very curious and friendly. Good memories!

I think it was either Pearl market or Silk market, or maybe both haha. Do your research properly, read reviews and avoid such places at all cost coz it will ruin your trip and leave a bitter mark . Like I said it almost felt like we visited two different countries with different people and a totally different experience. It's just crazy how different people can be 🤪
