Wow! Thats some up and down on that mountain! The ropes are the only way! French Polynesia will be in your soul forever. It never leaves you even if you move on. You'll see. Great episode in every way! Safe passage to Tonga!

El, Fil, and Aiden, What boom brake do you guys have ? I have a 458 on order and want to get one. Where do you anchor it ? Thank you.
@Expedition_Tranquilo Жыл бұрын
Hi Chip, great to hear about you ordering the 458! The boom brake is from Walder, works great. We attach it to where the vang connects to the boom. Hope this helps!

@@Expedition_Tranquilo thank you so much. Recognized the Walder. What size did you get ? Where do you attach it to the deck ? The shrouds or the handholds on cabin top ? Long time subscriber You are a big inspiration, and a great thing to watch as I count down to the delivery. Great stuff and thank you.

Hi Chip, we have the Walder 403. We attach the line to the cleats midway down the hull, bowline on the port side, through the Walder, then a block on the starboard side and then back to the cockpit winches when we can adjust the tension on the line to manage the speed of the boom coming across.
