Trans Am Nationals photo memories through the years 2005-2019.
The show takes place each year in Fairborn, Ohio on the last weekend in August (Friday thru Sunday). The show is open to all Pontiac Firebirds (example: Trans Am, Formula, Esprit, GTA and so forth).
On Saturdays during the show a cruise to nearby Tipp City takes place. The whole downtown area is blocked off for the firebirds to line the streets.
Note: the show was cancelled in 2020

Highlights and fun facts through the years
2005: First year I attended. You'll notice a very rare 1973 SD455 Formula, a 2nd gen Trans Am convertible conversion and a 3rd gen notchback.
2006: There was a black 1982 Trans Am with 702 HP that was built by a 16 year old, quite impressive!!!
2007: The infamous half and half blue/pink Firebird with scissor doors. This car got a lot of attention during it's day. The lady that owned the car, at the time, had a tattoo that matched the car. The Brewster Green Trans Am you'll notice has billet aluminum honeycomb wheels. As I recall the owner, a Canadian, made his own wheels. This was before Yearone started selling billet aluminum honeycomb wheels. You'll also notice the modernized Yearone Bandit Trans Am on display.
2008: First year having my 76 50th LE Trans Am in the show. I had honeycomb wheels on my car that year sans trim rings. A red Trans Am was on the showfield and it's rear glass window shattered due to the heat. If you look closely at the red Trans Am driving through Tipp City you'll notice the back window is missing. As I recall someone at the show was able to help the owner get a new rear window installed. Restore A Muscle Car had there Platinum Trans Am on hand. This was the last year the show was held at the Dayton Airport in Vandalia, Ohio.
2009: First year the show was held at the Marriott hotel in Dayton, Ohio. My car club president decided to shrink wrap a car cover on his car for extra protection. The Smokey & the Bandit trailer was on display. Kevin Morgan's Trans Am concept was unveiled at the show. It had gained huge popularity through 3D renderings of what could be. Those rendering were published in Hot Rod Magazine. The concept was built on the new Camaro platform. There is a pic of myself with the man himself, Kevin Morgan. My 76 Trans Am is now sporting turbo alloy wheels instead of the honeycombs.
2010: Ligenfelter performance had on hand a retro styled Trans Am based on the new Camaro platform. Herb Adams (famed suspension tuner) brought his blue 2 seater Pontiac Contessa that he designed. The car could be purchased.
2011: 2 retro styled (69) Trans Am's as well as several retro styled Z/TA's were on hand. A very rare Pontiac Tojan built by Knudsen Automotive was on display. Dig those Gotti wheels on the Tojan. Look closely at the engine bay pic on an early 70's bird, there is a very rare dual quad cross ram intake manifold.
2012: The retro styled 6T9 Goat and retro styled Trans Am by Trans Am Depot were out and about at the show. My 76 Trans Am won a trophy in the SE3 (special edition heavily modified) class. Okay, so my car won by default because it was the only car in that class and I believe the only year they had that class in judging. Normally they have just SE1 class for factory stock special edition Trans Am's and SE2 class for modified special edition Trans Am's
2013: You can see my 76 Trans Am parked next to one of the real 8, 1969 Trans Am convertibles that were made (yes only 8 1969 convertible TA's were made from the factory, although, there are many replicas/clones out there)
2014: The event is now held at the Holiday Inn in Fairborn, Ohio.
2016: A cruise to Miamisburg, Ohio was setup for a special showing of Smokey & the Bandit. It rained really hard that night. The 1968 George Barris custom Superteen Firebird was on display.
For kicks I found a replica Governor of Alaska license plate at a local antique store and displayed on my car while at the show. I think some people were really wondering if the Governor of Alaska was in town, LOL.
2018: A drone taking video of the event at the Tipp City, Ohio cruise in gets tangled in some power lines and has to be rescued.
2019: The Ferrari V12, euro styled Pontiac Pegasus and Pontiac Banshee concept are on display. Both cars being based off a 2nd gen firebird. The Silverbird race car was on display as well.
