Trans Euro Trail - Catalonia - Smugglers' Route

The video shows the Smugglers' Route in the Pyrenees from Catalonia to Andorra, which is part of the Trans Euro Trail (TET) GNR02 (Spain, 2022). The trail was more difficult than I expected with years of neglect and popular traffic, but goes through a beautiful region of the Parc Natural de l'Alt Pirineu. The famous water crossing on the trail can have a lot more water flowing than this time in the video. Please enjoy the video.

Did the route in 2017 on my r1100GS. I was happy to have my cam running all the time because I was to concentrated with driving to enjoy the surroundings. Made me wish for a 21 inch front wheel and a 50kg lighter bike.

Very enjoyable video, many thanks for sharing this. Looking at the condition of the track, I can see why you didn't much notice the scenery at the time. It looks like you were riding a Yamaha T7. Did you have much extra weight - luggage, tools or extra fuel?

Thank you. I did have some luggage and tools, but actually only minor weight. And yes it is a T7 with Anlas Capra X tires. There were a lot of deep hard packed ruts in a mosaic and big stones, so my main focus was picking the line continuously through the mosaic of ruts, stones, hairpin and slope. So for me it was impossible to ride and enjoy the view at the same time.

Yes, it is possible. As far as I remember the only two places you could be in doubt is finding the entrance to the path in the city Alins and through the village Tor until you are over the small bridge, just follow the main track and you will be fine.

Der er selvfølgelig TET ruten E-14 GNR02 fra Escaló til Espui med den bedste begyndelse ad TET rute E-10 GER01. Jeg har dog hørt at en del af E-10 GER01 er blevet lukket, men vejen udenom er fin. Så er der Pic Negre ved Andorra tæt på Smuglere rute osv. Det er nok de smukkeste "off road" ruter i området omkring "Smuglers route". Men ellers er der masser af fantastiske vandreture i National parkerne Vall de Boi, Benasque, Ordesa y Monte Perdido etc. hvor grusvejen fra byen Chia ved Castejon de Sos til byen Plan er værd en tur efterfuldt af vej HU-631 etc., men ellers bare via N-260 med besøg i byen Ainsa. Der er rigtig mange steder jeg kan anbefale...
