idk why but how my singing voice will be once I'm on T terrifies me. I'm pre-t and my singing voice isn't terrible but I'm afraid that if I start T it will be :( your voice sounds so amazing and gives me hope though!

I was worried about that too. It definitely changes your singing voice. It just takes a while to get used to your voice and realize some notes you just simply can't reach anymore. I sound like I'm screeching (or no sound comes out) if I try to sing a really high note that I can't reach. I'm trying to find a way to sing a bit higher (but still deep obviously) and make it sound good. It's harder for me to sound good singing louder and higher in pitch

its good to know testosterone isint going to totally kill my singing voice ahhh im gonna be starting in the next couple days/weeks once i learn how to do the shots and like,, the only thing that makes me sad is that im going to lose some of my range (im currently an alto who can get down to baritone and up to the middle of the first soprano range) and while im disappointed that i probably won't be able to get into the soprano range with the same ease im pretty glad that my speaking voice will finally drop to the range it should be lol

First, congrats on starting T! That is so soon and very exciting! And yeah, after a while you just sort of get used to the new range. I can't even really remember my previous one and I was a mezzo soprano. Hahaha. I'm not mad about the changes at all.

@@augusth7975 ...well i cant sing worth shit anymore 😅 LMAO but its fine. its kinda my own fault as i did not practice much, so honestly i havent even like... fully broken in my range yet? oops. falsetto simply does not exist for but hey im a baritone! range is absolutely abysmal but it turns out it didnt matter as much as i thought it might way back when i was 17. but also even if i like. actually really wanted to practice and all that my lungs got absolutely destroyed after a double lung infection when i was about a year on T and i still cant take a full deep breath sooooo singing is not in the cards anymore 😅 ah well. i can sing off key in the car when im sad and thats all i really need.

Since I've realized I'm a ftm, I've been so worried over my singing voice that I've cried at night. I have a great singing voice and one of my ideal jobs for my future is producing music. So watching both of your videos gave me so much hope. The entire time I've been sobbing becuase you not only before were great but now your so much more relaxed and happy. I'm not as good as you. I know this. Your covers are way better than mine. But you doing this. Guagh- Its so overpowering and impowering at the same time. Anyways, there is my preach to you. I hope your journey farther into transitioning goes incrediblely.

Awesome video Jeff ! I just wanted so say thank you, thank you for posting these videos. They gave and give me so much hope and courage for my future. One of the biggest reasons why it took me so long to accept that I'm trans was my fear of losing my singing voice. I knew that if I'd come out, that I would want to start T, so I tried to forget about it completely. But through your videos I got hope that I can keep my voice if I just work hard enough for it. Now I'm 8 weeks on T and my voice sometimes cracks when I try to sing high notes which is terriffying and extremly exciting at the same time. It's the first time in years that I am actually looking foreward to my future. And your videos gave me the little push that I needed. So thank you very much for all these updates 💙

You know what im scared to starting T. i am known to for a having a very big range in my voice, i can reach very high noted and go very low when warmed up right. I sing mostly alto parts when harmonizing with my cousins being the lowest voice in the group so i think thats something i would look forward too.

I love this so much. I can even hear an adjustment time for you which makes it so genuine. In the first clip you have a very strong, settled voice and you do some super cool things with it. Then there's a part where you get very soft and steady, which also sounds lovely, but it's cool to hear the range come back around the 3 year mark. You sound and look so happy and comfortable. It's wonderful. This video just makes me really happy :)

You’re so talented and your singing voice is so beautiful! Quick question: does T dose matter for the sound of your voice/your singing voice? Like, did you start out on a low dose or just normal?

The dose you start out on depends how deep your voice is already, your genetics, etc. It also depends if you want to see changes sooner; the lower the dose, the slower the changes. You usually start at a low dose (considered a low dose for shots anyway, so not nearly as low as patches or gels) and then they see how your body is reacting to it before you work your way up. I started at .25 ml and now I'm at .3 so 60 mg. 😊
