This is one of the songs I use to test headphones. The layering is intense and will wash out a shitty pair of headphones or ear buds. I remember testing a "high end" brand of head phones and you couldn't even hear the vocals. It sounded like someone was singing from the end of a 100ft hallway. The highs are crisp and the medium and low frequencies fill out those bandldwidths quite well.

The '50s, 60s and 80's were the 3 'futuristic' decades of the 1900's. The 'future' was realized decades ago. '90s-the present is the permanent situation of creativity being gone permanently. It's not going to suddenly somehow come back at this late date now.

It's because electronic music and recording technology was still moving forward. Sampling was the last big musical development. The 1980s saw digital audio, CD, polyphonic synths, digital synths, sampling and so on. No other decade since has given us anything like that.
