Thank you for the very detailed explanation, I understand business reasons why go this route, but i doubt that this can of worms (transactions) should have been opened. It's no fun when transactions go wrong. So transactional systems and their core principles should be simple enough for experienced developers/architects/support teams to understand.. at least it should be as long as claimed CAP and isolation levels are well documented and intuitive.
