How Morse is able to sing such a difficult song and play the difficult keys is completely insane.
@SharingSoundz4 жыл бұрын
He's actually not playing anything difficult on the keyboards....he's alternating between like a few chords for most of the song...Peter hammill does the same thing. Maybe you're not a musician so it's harder for you to grasp.

That's Neal Morse. He's on a ton of recordings - the four Transatlantic albums, the first six Spock's Beard albums, eight solo albums of Christian-themed prog, plus countless other projects.

Neal Morse is an amazingly talented musician. He's also one of the best songwriters alive, as his work with Spock's Beard shows. After he left, I never really enjoyed that band much anymore. They still "sounded" like SB, but not really. It was like they lost their soul.
@awaken77 Жыл бұрын
@@kingcrimson234 Neal Morse is also great showman. He's behaving on stage very appealing, open to the audience, interacting with them, sometimes telling jokes in between. Actually the whole Transatlantic is great live band, I enjoy all their live shows . People in the community noticed that prog bands generally boring to watch live, because musicians are static, and dont do much except staring at their instruments. But not in case of Transatlantic.

Every comment is bashing the singer... I think he did good on his own, it's a cover, I assume you guys don't expect him to sound like Peter, right? Personally, I don't like when bands do a cover of another band and the singer tries to immitate the original singer. In general they just sound like a pathetic copycat (The Musical Box doesn't count, because they are a cover band and they nail it, to boot). I think they did it very respecfully and the singer sang with joy, like he was enjoying it. I liked it.
@TruNordics1410 жыл бұрын
I agree bashing the singer is stupid, he sang some of it a little flat but he nailed much of it well enough, and his voice isn't annoying like I find some of the Gabes impersonators.
@vasiliospandis16879 жыл бұрын
Sileithel Spot on! nice surprise and enjoyable occasion.If Genesis do not sing anymore let other people do it and enjoy!
@Sileithel9 жыл бұрын
I have changed my mind about tribute bands a bit, since I've seen a couple more, with Gabriel impersonators and they were great at that style. You can like the idea of imitation or not, but they were very good at what they did. So my opinion has changed a bit since I wrote that. I still think the same about the singer here. If you're going to imitate Peter, then I like it when it's spot on. If you're going to sing in your own voice, then great.
@soak17099 жыл бұрын
+Sileithel I agree!! The singer did a very good job with joy and energy, and don't forget Steve Hackett : brilliant! A very good moment, thanks!
@oriomenoni94518 жыл бұрын
It's not because he doesn't sound like Gabriel. It's because he does not have enough power, his extension is clearly limited and he sings half of his part in a difficult range for him. He also has trouble keeping the tune in the most demanding parts. If this was a regional cover band, that would have been acceptable, but at this pro level, he's simply unacceptable.
