I used a spiral clamp to hold keys [ 4 key ones are tough ! ]

Is it possible to swap forward and reverse? What i mean by that is my mower movers forward in reverse gear and reverse in gears 1-5. Its not the original transaxle so im tryna see if i can take the trans apart and make it to where im going forward in gears 1-5 instead of backwards

What was the initial issue? I just picked up a freebee from dump that runs mint, but can only get 1st n reverse, similar axle, an MST-206-502A, hoping the keys you used, look like a 792180 in mirror, tried to read that bag. is my issue.. since cannot read label to know model number cannot look up parts, could only get axle numbers, that sticker in place... mowing in 1st is not fun...

There was a sticker on rear tire saying to add grease, it was out of lube, and the axle looked like new it was so clean, appears to be something like a 98 Murray 12.5hp 42" widebody, again sticker for model number on tractor itself was torn in half and what is left is just white, cannot read a thing... I had filled mine up, had a combo drain n fill plug, but could not get plug back in, is like 2x size and pushing a tool into middle of plug, is hollow, not enough room in place.. so will do on bench and see what is wrong,,, grass mowed have a week to play and hope correct keys and no other issues,,,

How do you get the spider gear together?

Just keep working it they will fit together its actually frustrating. I welded mine to make it locked for posi rear end took a bit to get it together right
