I have a pro 200 which i bought when they were first launched in the uk. It is a fantastic camera. I am looking for a second one and you have convinced me the 230 is the one for me. I was in a serious smash two years ago and the Eastern European lied to the police and to her lawyer. She was charged with reckless driving on the deviance of the dash cam. My sixteen month old car was written off. I have never driven a vehicle without one for many years. Transcend are not the cheapest. You can not put a price on good clear information that can be used in deviance. Cheers for a good clear comparison between the 220 and 230.

Thanks for sharing. I agree, I am much more confident and even safer driver myself with one in my car. Glad you had yours and I must say so far none of Transcend cameras I had let me down. The main thing - always have it on. I had few silly situations where I didn't put it on, luckily nothing resulting in any sort of crash. Drive safe.

Hi, thanks for the awesome review. Weirdly I don't see Video Length, Loop Recording in the menu of 230. And it only shows last two videos in the memory. JFYI I use the 32GB memory card which was in the box. Any idea?

I chose a camera because they advertised that a capacitor is used instead of a battery, which is preferable for hot climates. After 3 years of operation, the camera stopped working. When I opened the camera, there was an exploded battery and a damaged board inside. To restore, you need to change the board, which you can't buy anywhere. The camera is not suitable for use in sunny areas.

Which direction did you push the lever to remove the suction mount from the camera?

You pull it outwards straight and un-clip it. It should be very easy to use it even with one hand.

Sorry, this is probably a stupid question but is this water proof? I am thinking of using it in a scooter.

Hi. Unfortunately there is no waterproofing on this as it is meant for in vehicle use. I would advise action cam with waterproof housing or Transcend Body Cam 30. I am using one and so far - all good in rain, cold and heat. It is not exactly rated for these conditions but works well for me for city use. See video on my channel.
