IN THIS VIDEO, I'm doing my best to bring this filthy and damaged coffee table back to life. I had a big boo-boo (ok, ok... I screwed up) towards the end of this restoration, but I did what I could to salvage it.

I always appreciate Angie’s attention to detail, especially the most important, which is cleaning the furniture/decor item before repairing and restoring. The person that made the comment that they don’t like that part of the videos and that it’s boring, completely forgot that they control their own computer/phone etc and can fast forward through those parts of the video to where it’s more interesting for them.

I suffer from anxiety and I always enjoy watching your videos. I’m 78. As a child I’d spend time at my grandfather’s who was a cabinet maker/ builder all things wood. He was Amish and my stepgrandfather. He had an enclosed room in his cellar where he kept wood and would let me choose some and make something to take home to my mother. In my era woodworking wasn’t a career for woman but watching you I know that was my calling. I love all things wood. I have my great grandmother’s furniture walnut dresser and washstand. Ironically my 3 sons have no interest at all. i have the little table my grandfather made as an apprentice? that is a mosaic of inlays. of different woods on too. Pretty funny when asked what I’m watching and I say furniture reruns.😊

Watching Angie's videos must be extraordinarily enjoyable for you after having spent such wonderful times with your step grandfather in his woodworking shop. I spent time in my father's shop when he worked on projects for my mother. As we get older, we think more about prior times, and videos like Angie's bring back the good memories. Enjoy.

Do you have any grandchildren who may take an interest? My sister thinks I am a bit wacky because I much prefer an old timber piece to the Ikea stuff she has filled her house with. I can understand her wanting the clean lines and simplicity, but knowing that, I don't understand why she chose not to take our mother's MCM teak bedroom set. I have my hopes pinned on one of my grandchildren loving my old furniture, because my children seem to be taking after my sister.

Oh, Angie...what was a mistake for you was a teaching moment for me. EVERYONE makes mistakes. Not everyone has the courage to admit to their mistakes, let alone to show them. Thank you for sharing your humanity. I love seeing the time you spend cleaning. And sanding. And repairing. And finishing. And anything else you care to share. Maybe your critics should a) start their own KZbin channel, b) use that finger they used to tune-in, to tune out or c) find a hat and sh** in it because no one gives a sh** but them! There. I feel better. As for me, I learn something every time I watch you. Your work is stunning! Thanks, as always!

I love the "real world-ness" of your videos. You let us see the good, the bad and the ugly...the highlights and the mistakes. That's what makes your videos so special; we learn not to panic, but to look for what to do next with a cool head and a confident demeanor. You are so special in that you let us see warts and all and then dazzle us with how it all turns out in the end. I love your work and your integrity!!!

Thank you Angie for keeping it real. I actually enjoy watching the cleaning process as that can be a mini transformation in itself. Well you certainly had your work cut out for you with this one and that hiccup with the finish - oh my heart went out to you. Just when you think you're close to the finish line hey? I always quite enjoy the cleaning process. It is the first step in restoration, and important to show the promise a piece holds. And yeah, it takes some time but please: in this modern society where basically everything needs to be finished yesterday, can we slow down a bit? Take some time and effort to actually appreciate what we are doing? Angie, I love your work! You create beautiful things and I admire all the work you do, including the cleaning process!

Hey Angie! I’m a middle school band director here in the US, and I’ve used those same peel and stick foam sound panels. When I wanted a nicer look in my office, I used Rockwool insulation (for great sound absorption AND it’s fire resistant!). I made a simple wood frame and placed it in the center. If you get burlap, it’s loose enough in the weave to allow the sound to pass through it and get absorbed in the Rockwool. Wrap the panel in burlap as if you are covering a seat and staple it to the back. You can make customized panels AND you can get dyed burlap to add color if you wish. It’s far superior to those foam panels and it’s also easy to hang up or take down if you want to repaint your walls. ❤

I might also add that it’s very cost friendly as well. ;)

Looks great! And I bet you'll make a tidy profit on it. Being angry at yourself for making a mistake: I am very mistake-prone in my own crafts, and so used to spend a lot of time making myself miserable about that. Finally decided to simply accept that I am mistake-prone. And so, like you, I have become a super good problem solver. Now, instead of beating myself up when I make a mistake, I take pride in my creative problem solving. And I'm much happier.

This was really interesting! Thanks for sharing your thoughts / speculations on what this coffee table had been through. As an aside - I’ve never once thought you showed “too much cleaning” on this channel. I’ve always admired the way you strike a great balance between showing us all the different aspects of the restoration process without boring us but also without detracting from the fact that the steps of the process are often long and repetitive. Disillusionment as a beginner is a very real issue. You’ve given me a much more realistic picture of what the high quality restoration process looks like. I now have a much greater appreciation for furniture and furniture restorers.

You nailed it completely- the process IS often long and repetitive! :-) I do my best to convey that without being monotonous but clearly, someone will always be annoyed no matter what, haha. Thank you for your viewership, and for taking the time to post a message :-)

I love it! and for the cleaning and prep time or even sanding time - I find it important to give the viewers a glimpse of how time consuming these steps are when it's done as meticulously and thoroughly as you do it. We have friends with teenage kids who get highly frustrated when trying to bake a cake following tiktok! so you're doing it exactly right in my opinion ❤ love from germany

I don't mind the cleaning bits. I suppose I enjoy seeing how thorough you approach your restorations. Plus, should I do a restoration, I know I only have to re-watch one vid for tips. I didn't quite understand how you committed that error in the process but nice job putting it right. I appreciated that you highlighted those light bits on the stand part, as it would not have been something I would have noticed. Big thank you from me. The piece looked amazing. ♥🇬🇧
