Transcribe and Translate Videos with Whisper API and Next.js

In this video we will create an app that transcribes your videos and then translates into the language you want. You can download the transcripiton file as SRT or VTT.
It's a great tutorial if you want to learn how you can automate transcription process with OpenAI's Whisper API.

I've been using an open-source project using the Whisper API with Python to transcribe video courses, it's a really good one, but this one is pretty cool, you can even extend the context by giving keywords to improve the accuracy. Been loving your unique projects so far!

Yeah, my intent was the same while building it. I convert all mp4 files to mp3 via terminal in a batch(with ffmpeg) and then create captions for additional languages. Thank you for your support 🫶🏼

hello is there any way to convert youtube video to mp3 and then use that for whisper. I am trying to do that but not able to do so.

There are some APIs in Rapid API to create mp3 for a KZbin video. Otherwise you need to create your own server to this. You can download the mp4 file and convert to mp3 with ffmpeg.
