Great lectures, thanks. However, there seems to be a mistake when prof. Fink describes the AUG codon of mRNA as ONLY a start signal. In fact, AUG also codes for methionine at the beginning of each protein. Methionine however can be cleaved later, so not every protein starts with methionine. Prof Fink: "when it appears at the beginning it's18:00 not a coded message for the amino acid18:03 methionine but it simply indicates start18:06 translating all right now if Aug appears18:08 anywhere else then it codes for the18:10 amino acid methionine." twitter.com/nneandertaliene

I think you need to rewatch his explanation because he did NOT make any mistakes explaining the codon AUG. Minute 17:20. He never described AUG as “only” a start signal....
