This was perhaps my favourite of your posts. I tend to make the same dress over and over again, just with different colours and fabrics. So I'm always looking for a better system to store them. And I'm really excited about your hole puncher, I've been looking for one like that for years. Of course Amazon has them, but it never occurred to me. Thanks for yet another great post.

Fantastic video! Love following you and learn new tricks in my sewing journey. I was wondering how to mark on the traced pattern, if you don't use the the most outer lines on the original pattern, if that make sense? Like on the one you used, there was some red marks on the originale where the notches is further in, but it was not the ones you marked on the card. How to do that if you tape down the pattern and you don't want to cut down the originale to one size?

I just happened across this great video. I'm in the US and was horrified when you mentioned the price of Scotch tape. If you are investing in it, you might like to know that Scotch tape also comes in a low tack version that is easy to peel off. It's called Removeable tape and has the same opaque appearance as Magic tape. I learned about it when I took a Craftsy sewing class years ago. Thanks for the video.

Thanks for the tip! It’s good to know it comes in a low tack version, too. I’ll have to look for it 😁 and yes everything in AUS is so expensive!!

Yep, I was going to say the exact same thing. I have two tape dispensers on my cutting table. One is permanent and the other is temporary/removable. The sticky notes is good, too. I cut them in strips so I have a but of sticky on the pattern edge. Great video. We appreciate your input on how to do this.

Thank you for the video, can you share the detail of the paper. What is the name of it?

Why is it not obvious to do it like this 😮 thanks!!

I love using a type of interfacing called Shapewell by birch. I get it from SPotlight. Its got a papery/fabric combined feel, any pens can write on it really well, its fully ironable, so the pieces can fold up really well, and tucked away and then be ironed out again. It also has the advantage of having a type of static that allos it to cling to fabric, so it doesnt need to be as frequently weighted. Its a bit on the pricey side but for blocks and patterns i use frequently - its the best!

Yes! I hear lots of people say they use this 😁

Laminating the pattern also helps for wear as well

Really good advice. Most of my, most used patterns are almost all cello tape. The exception is if I have redrafted patterns, then I have transferred the pattern to cardboard. 😊

They tear so easily! I get stressed when they start falling apart. Then feel so much better once they’re in card 😂

Just an idea as an option to the magic tape: what if you used "sticky" notes (post-its, etc) to hold the pattern in place? You could easily cut thru them or remove them as you cut. They should securely hold the piece in place AND it wouldn't damage the pattern. Did you say magic tape is $30 there???

Great idea and yes it is 🤣

Thanks for these informative videos! Where do you find your card stock? Is it a roll or individual sheets?
@LorenzathelabelАй бұрын
So sorry I hadn’t replied! I have a reel about industry stores in Melb. It’s linked on my bio site with a with of places you can get the card 😁

Such a cool idea! I find using a ruler to be sooooo slow☺️ If you re-use the pattern, do you cut it out around the card with a cutting wheel?
@jenniferrich5292Ай бұрын
Never mind- I just watched your pattern marking video and you showed your cutting process very clearly👍

I place the card on fabric when it’s time to cut and draw around it with markers. If that’s not what you were asking please let me know 😁

@@Lorenzathelabel what kind of markers do you use? are they permanent? I know the marks would be cut off or in the seam allowance but it still makes me nervous to use a marker I couldn't wash out in case I made a mistake or wanted to re-place the pattern piece. Also, I'm looking for what kind of card you use. It's explained in another video isn't it? I thought I'd check here in the comments to find the video link. Thanks for all the great info!

This is great! Lots of great tips. Thankyou. However, I clicked on mainly to find the answer to the one thing you didn’t address! Where do you get the cardboard you use (in Australia?)

Hi Lorenza. Just wondering what you use for labels in your sewing. Do you make your own or do you purchase?
@LorenzathelabelАй бұрын
Such as labels for care or that I’ve made it?
