I have been using Wise for its wire transfer feature when indulging in my watch hobby. No issues there at all. I am wondering about storing some funds there in different currency. I am hoping to migrate to Dubai in the next year or so, and building up some AED when rates are favorable would be nice.

I have a Wise account and recently my balance exceeded $3000 and was advised that on personal accounts there would be a daily fee for amounts over $3K so keeping large sums in an account will cost you some fees. Also, their customer service is positively atrocious. If you did not receive an expected transfer of money their help desk says to send them an email but there are no actual email addresses listed anywhere. The emails that are out there (after a search) don't result in anything. Basically, there is hardly any customer service if things go awry. I am still waiting for assistance after days of waiting

Hey, great video. Wondering if you would know whether or not you have to report to the IRS the money that you're moving back and forth using transferwise like you would have to do if you had a bank account in another country.

Wise as long as you move money from a Chartered Bank to a chartered bank...no problems. banks to people can be a problem - all my workers overseas have a bank account in the same bank (different branches), makes it easier.

@@Sam-pn2kc If you try to understand the KYC you will understand what triggers them. Always have multiple banks... I got local banks in four countries (old fashion high street banks), Revolut and Wise. Both in my personal name and businesses name. Spread the money between it and have some activity on each. You can stay way below the radar with most normal businesses for any unnecessary paperwork. If you do loads of transactions that don't make sense and you use the same account then many banks have triggers.

I got a Wise account. Zero instructions how to use their service, limitations etc. I also got their Visa card, only to discover that the payout limit per month is laughable. In addition, if I transfer a large amount to their service - what happens if they suddenly close my account? Is my money gone? Looks like their service is intended for tourists.

Thanks again for sharing information. My question for you is…. What happens when you need to transfer an amount like $300,000 to euros to buy a condo? With respect: Your videos are clearly aimed at an experienced audience. I am brand new to Revolute and have just discovered that there are many other offerings. I have little idea of what these products are used for, nor even how to use them. Further, I don't understand why I should have them. Teaching 101 compels the teacher to educate the student on the WHAT, WHY, HOW questions/answers. You are preaching to a choir of which I am NOT a member. Knowledgeable user, it appears BUT a bad teacher.

Thanks, OC. I'm new to this game and needed to move some capital from UK to NZ (and likely vice-versa later), checked out Wise, Spend and another based on one of your earlier videos. I've in the past been an OFX user; but quickly saw how much of 'my' money I received at the end of the process was far better with both Spend and Wise. Opened and tested accounts with both, finding Spend easier to use, but Wise gave me a little bit more of my money at the end-point. So, how do Revolut and Wise (and others) stack up when it comes to optimal gains at the end of a transfer (money exchange) process? I'm also interested in understanding about the debit/credit card options of both; if my son were to go work offshore in various countries in the future (covid allowing), such as UAE, Malaysia, Europe, UK, US?
