Are you ready to take your jazz blues solos to the next level? In this video, I'll guide you step-by-step on how to incorporate II-V lines or licks into a jazz blues chord solo. Perfect for intermediate players, this lesson will help you transform your improvising skills and move further along the road to soloing musically & creatively through chord changes.
This is a crucial step that just about every aspiring jazz player needs to take and to do it you'll need skills. I'll show you how to build those skills and HOW to start using II-V lines in your solos.
This is an approach that's helped many, many of my students over the past 30 or more years of teaching jazz guitar and all instruments in improvisation classes. It's very effective. It isn't magic, though, and is just one step among quite a few. Follow the steps, do the work, and you'll get there!
There are backing tracks for practice in the video and FREE PDFs of resources for the lesson are linked below.

“it’s more useful to be able to play without understanding than to understand without being able to play” Perfect! I’m stealing this.

This is so cool. It seems that you can play the 1 diminished chord (same as sharp 4 diminished) over the sharp 4 diminished chord to lead to the 1 chord in bar 6. Then you can play the flat 1 diminished chord in bar 10 over the 5 chord to return to one.

I am very happy to have found your channel, your exercises really help to understand and practice, also the connection between the previous lessons and this one help a lot. I like to have the feeling that the lessons are chained and structured with the intention of progressing by incorporating a new topic each time. What I find most difficult is to play in time and to know where I am going, it remains to invest time in it. Thank you very much Dr Saul, I am improving thanks to you.

You're awesome sir! Perfect lesson. Could you please make a lesson how we may connect this lines with previous bars and to the next ones. How can we prepare our improv. to connect to ii v I licks?
