Honestly, this is the most important video I think you've ever made. Its like a quick recap from beginner to professional. Thanks a lot. I also wish you would do a single video using a simple song like Mary had a little lamb to explain grace notes. Just give us 3 or 4 exact gracenote patterns to master on the song and how to perfectly time them in rhythm with the left hand. As a beginner its difficult to be creative with something like that. But if you can slowly explain just about three or four of them so we can cram, emulate, copy them and master them, we'll then be able to get creative with it with other songs. Thanks a lot. I'm a piano teacher myself to the little kids in my neighborhood. Your videos have really been helpful. Thanks a lot

Nice video, the part about stride interested me a lot. I got into stride piano when I was relatively new to the piano. I knew nothing about tensions or extensions. Since then I have really gotten into learning about jazz and gospel, and have a good understanding of tensions and extensions. Anyway your stride piano playing got me thinking about using tensions in my stride piano playing, I know it seems like a simple concept but I never really thought of it that way before, thanks for another great video!

Brother Warren I can't seem to say thank you so much for opening up my mind and ears for helping me finally understand what grace notes and embellishments mean and how they're applied in piano playing in general often times I would wonder how can I do that but had no idea how until I started viewing your tutorials and what you explained is so easy to understand I appreciate you telling the history about these techniques that derived from the early classical pianists to the pianists of today like yourself and how much you incorporate them into your playing I couldn't help but think about how artists especially Stevie Wonder uses those same techniques that you teach about that allows his playing to stand out and is instantly recognizable one example of this technique is in his classic song knocks me off my feet in the intro you hear those grace notes and that ascending and descending pattern which is so beautiful to hear but yet so challenging to learn I read up on the technique which is called in Italian language rubato I an so glad I found you brother on the you tube channel I can't wait to see you again on your next tutorial and by the way I am a beginner pianist just trying to learn about this wonderful instrument

I always enjoy your videos and some real-life interruptions caused me to miss several weeks. I’m back now. These tips are great. I use some already but it is wonderful to add more. I do not like the notes/chords appearing as you play because it is distracting and they go too fast. I see what they are trying to do but again it is distracting. Thanks for the lesson.
