I think the C-Beam is a better option is is a 8040 in a c shape. this will allowing you to make custom inserts on inside of the C to make/add mounting hardware with out having to modify the extrusion and is a more robust shape. you can find it on the OpenBuilds website.

@nwngunner3 күн бұрын
I bought the 36 inch system last year because of your video. I dont need it for my tablesaw, but for resawing on my bandsaw it has made a massive difference. I didnt need it for outfeed, as my outfeed table for my tablesaw sits at the backside of the bandsaw. I build a set of rollers that match the bandsaw table height. I just needed the infeed support.
@mapbike3 күн бұрын
Make the length of the support leg on that extention adjustable so when the saw isnt sitting on a perfectly level surface the support can be set to match the height and level of the saws table. Also this will allow for difference in height of any jobsight saw base that someone is using. Just a suggestion for something added for better usability to your already great idea.

Nice setup, i did a variation on my Milwaukee tablesaw, i mounted a packout base using the t slots to the top of the saw, ( it protects the table top yet allows for more cases to be stacked ) then put brackets on the back so slide it off and attach to back of saw for runout, the packout base is tapered also. and no extra pieces to have to carry around or store.

Great products but when the accessories come close to, equal or surpass the cost of the tool, it’s a no go
@WillieBeamenApex3 күн бұрын

@ if I have a $300-400 or even $600 table saw and the fence costs $300, that’s not cost effective. There is NO WAY that the fence costs as much to produce and sell for a profit than the table saw. That is my argument.
@ST-03113 күн бұрын
@@vmoutsop Agreed. 2040, 2060, or 2080 extruded aluminum, a few t-track bolts, and scrap wood will do the same thing for a fraction of the cost.

Some nice upgrades for the Bow Xtender. I'd add a height adjuster to that fold-out leg. It's not always possible to set up a jobsite saw on flat ground.
@YahWho-is1tt3 күн бұрын
EXACTLY what I came to post! Could be kinda like the adjustment he shows @8:22. On that same extension, it could also benefit from having a connection/brace back to the back left of the saw table: pushing a sheet across it had it wobbling a bit fore and aft. The drop leg doesn't really offer support in that direction.

Nothing wrong with this Bow Xtender solution. But there is another and much cheaper solution for woodworkers with garage size workshops and smaller table saws. You probably don't need big infeed/outfeed tables for 95% of your cuts. But once in a while you do need to cut a few 4x8' sheets or wider/longer boards. Just make 3-4 saw-horses matching the height of your table saw. Or what I did 3/4 inch lower and put a piece of 1/2" plywood on top. There you have your temporary outfeed table and when not in use, you simply stack the sawhorses in a corner and put that sheet of plywood against a wall. BTW, when you have those sawhorses and you make a DIY track from scrapwood, you can just use a circular saw for your long cuts.
@warrensmith29023 күн бұрын
Izzy Swan has a design for a detachable support that I use for supporting my longer boards, and my crosscut jig. For longer cuts, I use I use my Rigid out feed support and my shop chair back to support the wood in front of the blade. It's only a 1./2" taller than my table saw. l

This is heavy duty and for stock going mainly on the saw table it can’t be beat. Mine is not useable for making tenons or holding stock more vertical on the fence (or re-sawing on the band saw). The face is not flat and is bowed in the middle going up the height of the fence the entire way. Applying any pressure on the fence rocks the piece you’re trying to cut. I sent one back because of it and was sent another with the same problem. I tried contacting Bow Products but haven’t received a response. Curious if anyone else had this problem?
