Funny thing is, now that I'm an adult, I have more Transformers now in the 2.5 years I've been collecting than I ever had when I was a kid! I like the more complex transformations, as a kid I never ever looked at the instructions, that was part of the fun to me. @@FIDreams Nah, they brought back Optimus because kids were locking themselves in bedrooms and crying their eyes out. LOL. It wasn't an evaluation of Rodimus Prime's leadership. People - especially children hate change. Take off your internet bias, go back and re-watch the original G1 cartoon and the movie. Optimus is actually a pretty big chump who gets duped by Megatron at every pass presumable getting thousands of human non-combatants killed in the first two seasons(see episodes The Ultimate Doom, Heavy Metal War, Megatron's Master Plan), gets the Autobots exiled to the moons of Cybertron, (pre-movie) and gets almost the entire 1984 toy line killed because he's too dumb to not openly discuss important plans out in the open where freaking Laserbeak can spy on them and report his ENTIRE plan back to Megatron and gets Autobot city sacked. (Transformers the Movie) Actually if you think about it Optimus was a pretty shitty leader in the fact he CONSTANTLY allowed his personal honor (arrogance) to endanger his troops or the humans he always swore to protect. Rodimus is the one who like a good general presses the advantage and actually wipes the Decepticons off Cybertron (post movie) sends them to exile and ushers in the end of the war, dispatches the Quientesson threat, (shown throughout season 3, Five Faces of Darkness) liberates an entire planet of lost Autobots, (Fight or Flee) and THEN is instrumental in bringing dumbass Optimus back to life! (Return of Optimus Prime.) Like a good general Rodimus is constantly taking advice from his lieutenants (Kup, Springer, Ultra Magnus) and weighing decisions. Unlike Optimus who is always like "We must leave earth to be raped by Megatron - my honor dictates it." *For the record, I like Optimus Prime too, I'm just citing examples where he was less than great to illustrate how the 'Rodimus Prime was a shitty leader' trope is tiring.

80s wasn't just the best decade to live in as far as toys.. cereals were great, cartoons, sitcoms, the birth of the NES and Sega Master System, the list goes on. What a great commercial brings back so many memories, remember watching this when I came home from school I was so psyched to come home and watch the Transformers. I had all sorts of Transformers until one day my brother broke my Optimus Prime he broke his head off so that's when I punched him in the face my mom was so mad at me she took all my Transformers away for a week it was worth it

1:42 Pentacar has a penchant to be knocked down and buried by debris. Also in Headmasters last episode is stricken by Sixshot and for a while buried by Ice. However Pentacar manages to escape to space with Zarak and the other cronies...

Original Omega Supreme had a motorized tank? All of a sudden Siege Titan Omega Supreme no longer impresses me. Edit: automated walk too. wow.

The animated scenes used in these commercials should have been what we seen in the cartoon lol.

The more I watch these commercials, the more I'm convinced that there were originally meant to have two renditions of the Transformers theme: the Autobot motif (the exclusive track with female vocals which definitely sounds heroic) and the Decepticon motif (the one we often hear ALL THE TIME in the Seasons 3 and 4 intros, hence its more disconcerting and sinister atmosphere). What do you think?

Ultra-Magnus: Autobot Commander for slightly less than two hours. It’s definitely going to look bad at his next job interview. :(

Because he can't deal with that now!

wait wait wait....(09:20) does prime die? in the advert to the movie? so it was a possibility and when he did people were shocked? yeah its different but it seems it wasn't out of nowhere so all these angry letters from the parents about it but seems they had a little heads up.
