I can see why Optimus pretty much gave up hope in Age Of Extinction. His autobots were murdered for fuck's sake. He was betrayed and hunted by the very people whomst he once protected valliantly and literally sacrificied himself for. He was brushed of, discarded. I can relate to Optimus. I love the way he was portrayed in Age Of Extinction. The amount of character development he undergoes is incredible. He shows true fear, rage, sadness and overall humanity in this movie which makes him more 3-dimensional than any other incarnation of Optimus Prime known to date. He wasn't just an infinitely wise leader with powers that fought aN evil bad guy. No. He was a person with actual depth that for once questioned his alliances and displayed sadness and rage at the same time while maintaining his original, iconic character. I loved this movie and nothing will ever change that. The saving grace is Lockdown and Optimus in my opinion.

Everytime I watch the first 3…. it always tears me up😢. The feelings you get, the goosebumps, the soundtracks during these scenes ❤ especially this one… No franchise(1-3) has made me feel the same way… Yes I know the franchise (1-3) is not the greatest but, for me, it is my childhood, my teenage years and my adulthood ❤.
