Transformers #9 Brings Nuance to Decepticons & Death to Autobots

Never would I have thought that I would ever see the image of Shockwave delivering a Tombstone to Optimus Prime. With Elita-One, I'm liking how just as there are some fissures in the Decepticon ranks in terms of brutality (as you pointed out, Astrotrain and Thundercracker), Elita-One (rightly) said to leave Jazz and Cliffjumper (not to mention Jetfire), given that it was only her and Optimus against Shockwave, the Constructicons, Soundwave, and Thundercracker. And given how compromised the two were, plot-wise, it would have made sense for Shockwave to dispatch his army to easily finish off Optimus and Elita. It's not like they had a ton of places to seek cover. Looking forward to a Beachcomber and Spike (aka Spike with Long Hair) bromance. Both seem to be coming from similar places at this point. Both are disengaged in the fight as Spike is just trying to wrap his head around his grief of losing his father (on top of his brother), and likely facing paralysis (at least for the near future). He is not out for blood (like Carly) right now, just because he's still processing stuff (on top of all of that, he was recently in a coma). Beachcomber could have easily announced his presence to the Autobots, but deliberately chose to lay low. So, I'm curious how that's going to go down in the next issue. Will he basically drop Spike off, but tell him to not reveal his whereabouts? R.I.P. Ratchet (and likely Brawl and Vortex).

Honestly, the autobots only should be working on reviving the other Autobots or making Autobot combiners. Because they cannot handle Soundwave, Constructicons Shockwave and the other Decepticons, Primus knows what would happen when Megatron gets somewhat repaired!?!?

In the Generation 1 episode War Dawn. Elita 1 is referred to as Ariel. It's not until she is a later rebuilt. That she comes known as Elita 1. There are also quite a few female robots in Generation 1. Their names are Chromia, Greenlight, Firestar, and Lancer. They appeared in the episode The Search for Alpha Trion. Alongside Elita 1.

You and Blerd are right I do believe they are the first female TRANSFOMERS we say, Nightbird, though a non-transforming robot, built here on Earth so I don't count her as a Transformer.

I haven't been following this series but want to... Am confused by the many different titles and series. Which one is this? Also I noticed Optimus is carrying Megatron's arm mounted gun... how strange?!

If you're interested, just follow Skybound: Transformers. There are other ongoing series (Void Rivals, the upcoming Destro comic, and recently-finished series (see Duke), but I've just been following Transformers. They just dropped the trade paperback of the first six issues.
