The figures are based on the G1 Aerialbots, but the toyline has its own story. This is made clear when ARMADA Red Alert is said to descend from Prima and ANIMATED Waspinator from Micronus. The line takes characters from other continuities and gives them a different context, like the comics, movies, and games do.

I still hate the idea of Optimus being one of the Thirteen. It makes him TOO special. Optimus should just be a guy who rose to the occasion when the Matrix chose him, not some predestined demigod. Making him always destined to be a Prime regardless takes so much away from what made him a great character in the first place.

That's why I don't like the whole mythologized Thirteen Primes origin altogether. It's so hackneyed, and I find the naturalistic origin more potent: the Transformers were created as a slave race by the Quintessons, overthrew their masters, but then turned on each other. Megatron was built as an ultimate Decepticon, Optimus was a humbled labourer who rose to the situation. Nobody are all-powerful gods or any of that dumb crap.

That way, we can still have the Thirteen lore and Optimus is his own guy.

I think it’s cause Wasp wasn’t really a Decepticon in Animated, reminder that he was accused of being a Spy for them, when in reality it was Longarm aka Shockwave, who was the spy, and he didn’t really work with any of the cons in animated, besides Blackarachnia, he was just an escaped Fugative in the show, with a grudge and hatred towards Bumblebee, I mean yeah he has the logo, but the bots probably put that on him, when they took him to prison to say “Hey, this guy is a Decepticon.” But he was mostly shown trying not to go back to prison and running from the Autobots

I'm so torn with that Wheelie inclusion. He's one of my favourite minibots, and he's getting a unique repaint that looks straight out of the G1 book I have of Quintesson jungle boy Wheelie. But I don't want or need a blue Grimlock.. and $100 AUD is a lot just to get Wheelie... With core class seemingly gone, I doubt his SS86 toy is getting this repaint. I gotta hope he gets a deluxe generations toy, like most of the minibots, but will its repaint look this good? Assuming they don't just opt for toy accurate colours as his only repaint... I've preordered everything else on bbts. Since he'll very likely be of this new skeletal style, best we can hope for is a front-facing socket for combination, unlike the aforementioned, which have been rear-mounted.

For this line, im really hoping i can get Nexus Prime, like all his five components as seperate figures that can still transform into vehicle mode and combine mode. I just hope the completed Nexus is posable and is a sturdy figure and does not get loose joints
