In terms of Transformers themes, this is by a long shot the best. At least by today’s standards. The more pop/rock sound, the clear vocals, the occasional undercut of a robot especially at the end, and the instrumental bridge all make it phenomenal at both telling a story we all know, and getting you pumped for the action of the show ahead. But it stands well just on its own.

Because ROTF was coming soon and Hasbro wanted to promote that so they canned it. It did somewhat continue as part of Botcon 2011's theme for that year revisiting Animated with "The Stunticon Job" and there was a reading of the canceled Season 4 three-parter "The Trial Of Megatron" at TF Nation by the original cast. Sadly no recordings were allowed as a precondition for it to even happen in the first place.

However, it wasn't the only transformers media to be coming out in the 80s, so it isn't the only thing that started it all. And it doesn't even come close to Animated. If any show deserves an honourable mention, it's Rescue Bots or RID 2001. RID 2015 was almost as bad as the prime wars trilogy.

I remember loving animated as a kid and was really upset when they stopped showing it on cartoon network, I remember one day after Ben 10 omniverse the guy announced " coming up next on cartoon network it's transformers!" As usual but with a video clip of TFA and I got so giddy and over excited to hear that theme again only for it to be an episode of transformers prime, I love TFP but to this day that Level of disappointment and confusion as a child is still unmatched, I didn't understand why they'd done that, obviously it was just a mistake but to me at the time it felt like kick in the teeth.
