to be fair, armada was the end of the formal war, energon was those not satisfied with the way things ended and thus those who would take advantage gathering them all to find glory once again. By the end of energon most were exhausted and thus only a handful really left willing to fight least that's how the progression of things looks to me

I do agree the show is a bit underrated. Unlike most of the Unicron Trilogy (though let's be real this can't connect logically, like the Bayfilms to BB and ROTB), it's well-paced, avoids filler for the most part, the human allies aren't worthless 99% of the time or horribly obnoxious, and the voice acting is pretty good. And the script's fun too.

This was my intro to transformers. I was 7 when this show came out. I acknowledge the nostalgia goggles, but this is still my favorite transformers media. For anyone who hasn't watched it yet but wants to, my advice is to separate it from the rest of the UT. That makes it so much better. There is a fan theory that the Armada/Energon and Cybertron universes were actually separate and got connected when the energon sun became a multiversal black hole

​@@Xeno-The-Wanderer There are things that don't make sense if they are connected. For example, in Energon, humans work with the Autobots. The US government knows about them. But in Cybertron, they don't know anything about the Cybertronians. That doesn't make sense. When I was a kid and watched this the first time, that stood out so much. I had been confused until I heard that Cybertron was originally created as a stand-alone in Japan. Hot Shot became a mature and competent leader in Energon but he reversed back to a hotheaded childish kid, throwing away all of the character development in the previous two series. Starscream's personality is completely different.

@@miyako1909 there isn’t any indication the government isn’t aware of them only that the autobots did not make any attempt to contact them there’s even a line least in the dub where Optimus wanted to have a proper plan first before involving humans. Hotshot as a character least from my recollection wasn’t necessarily a leader in Energon only a veteran soldier, his time in armada was more as sub-commander during the last quarter. However hotshot’s characterization is something that’s harder to reconcile than most of the other details but for the most part a lot of them can be reconciled but would need some deductive reasoning as while Galaxy Force is built on what was a planned Energon sequel anything overt in dialogue and even presentation seems to be lost

when i was a teenager i tried to watch the whole unicron trilogy, but i never finished cybertron. i think going through all of energon must have worn me out. this is good motivation to get back into it 👍
