I've not even read all of IDW and I know everything about this comment is wrong. Megatron creates the Decepticons, not Megatronus (The Fallen), and Tarn wasn't the second Decepticon. We don't even know when he joined the Decepticons, but he was originally an Autobot like the other commenter said.

I still love how despite the surface level differences in his character writing... ...his core characteristics, like deriving pleasure from inflicting pain, suffering, or humiliation on others, are still present as they were in IDW It's kind of impressive how one of the most gruesome Transformers characters in the franchise, being adapted into a show meant for younger audiences, can be so faithful to the source material

As Brainstorm pointed out, the alternate version of them acted differently, with really poor judgments that led to a bad ending, like Rodimus got killed early into journey. When Tarn caught up to the main cast, they were able to put up a fight instead of being slaughtered. It looked like their alternate versions are inferior.

​@@levietanhle915 That had very little impact on the overall story. That detour was less about the DJD and more about retconning Rewind's sacrifice and revealing Brainstorm to be a decepticon. If Tarn and the DJD had kills that had actual long lasting impact then their hype would make sense. But at the end of the story the only actual kill Tarn committed was, ripping Ravage apart. Heck the most interesting aspect of Tarn (being roller) was proven wrong and instead Tarn is a random character from years ago.

Kieth isn’t some newcomer to voice acting, he’s been doing it for a long ass time and was actually what the writers for MTMTE thought Tarn would sound like if he were voiced. Amphibia, Halo, Princess and the Frog, Spawn. All pieces of media that has his voice in them and all with a vast array of emotions and delivery in them. Just because you saw him voice one character in a show doesn’t mean he can’t emote for a role like Tarn.
